I recently recognized that in order to turn a blind eye to all the cleaning and organizing that never seems to be finished, I need to physically leave the house.
Last Summer was a bit of a blur and sometimes I try to think back twelve months and wonder to myself: What did I do all day?
Then I remember that my youngest was only eight months old at the time and, while my happiest moments in life are the ones that include one of my littles in my arms, I must admit to myself that a nursing baby under one year old makes everything just a little bit crazier - in the very best way of course - and is not the best time for accomplishing much aside from getting dressed and making dinner.
As I approach this new phase in life, the first time in over eight years that my body is not responsible for either growing or nourishing a babe, I pray for the grace to embrace with joy the opportunity I am being presented with to create memories that my children (and hopefully I ;) will remember for a lifetime, or at least one year from now!
With June's warm temperatures upon us and a vigorous school year ending, Summer is the perfect time for us to get away from our cozy homestead at least once a week for an adventure!

I wonder what it would be like to live a world where it was always June.

I love this and agree that I often feel the same way that I can't remember what we did, or how I spent my days in this crazy blur of little kiddos. I think that's why I love even more to hear the kids talk about their memories of our life because somehow even though I'm running around and losing time they are building moments and these funny, beautiful little experiences that is their childhood - even if its just a favorite snack in a new place in our yard or some small phrase that one of them said and now is the new inside joke between them.
